Position Overview
The Mechanic is responsible for the health and maintenance of all the Company equipment that is in service, to include pickups and all company heavy equipment (i.e., milling machines, reclaimers, skid steers, forklifts vehicles, etc.). The mechanic is responsible for maintaining production, quality and safety standards by ensuring the operation of machinery and mechanical equipment.
Essential Job Duties
- Above all, ensure that safe practices are followed in all aspects of daily activities.
- Diagnose / troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues accurately the first time.
- Read schematics, diagrams, blueprints, etc. to assist with repairs and/or diagnostics.
- Diagnose complex electric, hydraulic, and mechanical issues.
- Remove, replace, and repair major components of milling machines, skid-steer loaders, street sweepers, heavy and light trucks, etc.
- Perform routine maintenance services on heavy equipment.
- Conduct annual vehicle inspections as per Department of Transportation (DOT) requirements.
- Perform repairs on-site in the field as needed.
- Maintain degree of professionalism and customer satisfaction for employees operating the equipment and a positive customer experience.
- Actively communicate with the Shop Manager, other mechanics, operators, etc. to ensure repair and maintenance services are provided in a timely manner.
- Ensure part needs are communicated to Shop Manager to ensure proper inventory levels.
- Maintain ability to work overtime, nights and weekends particularly during the high season summer months.
- Maintain a safe and efficient workflow in the shop.
- Complete special projects as required.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Prior experience welding heavy machinery.
- Experience and excellent knowledge of the repair and maintenance of heavy duty construction equipment; a minimum of 3 years of experience preferred.
- Experience with roto-milling and/or related equipment highly preferred.
- Ability to work long hours outdoors and will be on their feet all day while either walking or standing.
- Detail oriented, organized, and capable of working independently and efficiently in a high-pressure environment.
- Reasonable level of computer literacy.
- Valid driver license and acceptable motor vehicle record; CDL preferred.
- Knowledge of organizational and safety operations and procedures, safety methods and practices.
- Knowledge and understanding of Department of Transportation (DOT) and current OSHA rules and regulations and ensuring compliance with these guidelines.

The position is responsible for ensuring proper leadership, training and guidance to all crew members at job sites. - Maintains an effective working relationship with applicable positions, such as Operations Manager, Superintendent(s), Project Manager(s)/Estimator(s), Shop personnel and other internal stakeholders.
- Conducts and participates in project review and job planning meetings.
- Controls, manages, supervises and actively participates in the activities of any number of projects at various stages of work to ensure the accurate completion of the project.

Position Overview
The Heavy Haul Truck Driver position serves as a key participant in the interaction between the Company (and other crew members), other contractors and our customers. The position is responsible for the loading, transporting and delivery of a variety of equipment in a safe and efficient manner, including milling equipment and other related machinery while following the state and federal guidelines.
Position may provide guidance to other crew members at job sites. Also ensures the safety of crew members via communicating and enforcing Company safety programs/policies/practices as well as OSHA, Department of Transportation (DOT) and other related regulatory requirements. Responsible for completing all required documentation and maintenance files in a timely manner.
Essential Job Duties
- Loads, transports and unloads the Company’s equipment via a truck/lowboy trailer in a safe and efficient manner. Equipment may include but not limited to front-end loaders, track and/or rubber tire loaders, dump trucks, backhoes, motor graders, water trucks, milling machines, reclaimers, and/or forklifts and other multi-axle equipment.
- Inspects equipment, and/or components daily to identify hazards, defects, necessary adjustments and repairs. May perform minor maintenance activities and report exceptional problems to appropriate members.
- May operate equipment that requires technical expertise and/or specialized training.
- Adheres to all applicable DOT and FMCSA regulations; completes and submits all required paperwork in a timely manner.
- Cleans, inspects, and services vehicle ensuring it’s properly maintained and securely stored (position blocks).
- Maintains high level of accuracy in load sizing for both weight and dimensional purposes. Uses required position blocks and rope ties around items to properly secure cargo for transport.
- Properly uses permits and translates diagrams and sketches describing off-highway locations, routes, and job sites.
- Consistently completes all job duties in a safe manner and promotes a positive safety awareness culture.
- Demonstrates a keen sense of safety and awareness particularly when working in high traffic and potentially hazardous construction sites.

Position Overview
The Ground Crew / Laborer position serves as a key participant in the interaction between the Company (and other crew members), other contractors and our customers. The position is responsible for providing physical labor on construction sites by assisting other crew members on monitoring the ground functions of Company equipment. This position may also be responsible for water support and driving/ operating water trucks. Laborers are required to assist co-workers in a safe and appropriate manner.
Essential Job Duties
- Controls and actively participates in labor related activities on job sites during various stages of the project to ensure the accurate completion of the project.
- While on a job site, responsible for appropriately marking manholes and water valves with spray paint to be avoided by the milling machine.
- While with a milling machine on job sites, responsible for:
- actively communicating with the employee operating the machine;
- ensuring the milling machine is clear of any debris or objects it could potentially hit, including remove millings that could hinder the operation of the machine;
- assisting with changing carbide teeth in milling machine drum;
- greasing the machine; and
- maintaining the correct cutting depth.
- While with a clean-up crew on job sites, responsible for assisting equipment operators to ensure loose particles are removed from the milled and roadway surfaces using shovels, brooms or other methods to achieve a cleaned surface.
- Other duties include helping with traffic control set-up and taking down and tending a slow/stop sign to maintain safe public and worker travel through the work zone, loading and unloading equipment (including equipment from trucks), shovels dirt, gravel, and other materials.
- Performs work with all hand tools including but not limited to pneumatic or traditional hammers, drills, impact guns and grease guns.
- May operate a variety of heavy mechanical equipment that requires technical expertise or specialized training. Heavy mechanical equipment to include but not limited to water trucks, milling machines, backhoes, skid steers, and broom tractors in a safe and efficient manner.
- Assists and/or performs daily equipment inspections and safety checks to identify hazards, defects, necessary adjustments and repairs.
- Assists and/or performs routine maintenance, including changing cutting edges, changing oil in milling machine, changing broom cores, etc.).
- Advises the Foreman of any requirements for maintenance or repairs.
- Ensure Company machines, equipment, vehicles, and tools and washed, cleaned and securely stored.
- Responsible for informing management of any safety concerns; adheres to safety and work performance standards to comply with OSHA, company and other agency regulations.

Position Overview
The Foreman / Supervisor position serves as a key participant in the interaction between the Company (and their assigned crew), other contractors and our customers. The position is responsible for ensuring proper leadership, training and guidance to all crew members at job sites. Also operates equipment and ensures the safety of crew members via communicating and enforcing Company safety programs/policies/practices as well as OSHA and other related regulatory requirements.
Essential Job Duties
- Maintains an effective working relationship with applicable positions, such as Operations Manager, Superintendent(s), Project Manager(s)/Estimator(s), Shop personnel and other internal stakeholders.
- Conducts and participates in project review and job planning meetings.
- Controls, manages, supervises and actively participates in the activities of any number of projects at various stages of work to ensure the accurate completion of the project.
- Interacts with customers by way of introductions at the beginning of a job, answering questions, responding to customer requests, making reasonable changes to the plan, and providing a walk-throughs as necessary.
- Responsible for workflow planning and organizing of jobs ensuring sufficient resources and materials are available and properly utilized.
- Operates milling equipment to properly mill asphalt/concrete to desired specification needs per each job.
- Manipulates hand levers to control movements of milling machine that mills asphalt, concrete, stone or dirt on roadways and related surfaces such as parking lots, streets, highways, etc.
- Communicates with crew while on the job site, including the use of radios, hand signals, or other necessary forms of communication.
- Directs the work activities of Operators, Ground Crew/Laborers and other assigned crew members ensuring jobs are completed in a safe, efficient and cost effective manner.
- Creates and maintains a positive work culture; recognizes and proactively addresses and resolves issues/problems between crew members. Communicates personnel issues to management.
- Completes all necessary recordkeeping associated with timesheets, work orders, change orders, material requisitions, and customer tickets.
- Ensures crew compliance with the Company’s policies and procedures.
- Operates a variety of mechanical equipment in a safe manner.
- Inspects, diagnoses, and corrects malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and/or components using appropriate testing equipment and/or tools.
- May diagnose/troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic and electronic issues. Performs maintenance activities and reports non-routine problems and/or repair requirements to Shop Manager.
- Inspects equipment, and/or components to identify hazards, defects, necessary adjustments and repairs.
- Constructs and fabricates parts, using hand tools and specifications.
- Delivers on the job and safety related training; may conduct safety tool box meetings.
- Responds to and proactively addresses/corrects safety violations. Actively participates in safety/incident investigations, completion of first reports of injury, workers’ compensation claims management, modified duty assignments, etc.
- Maintains ability to work overtime, nights and weekends particularly during the high season.
- Maintains ability to travel up to 100% of time to various job sites, possibly including extended overnight stays.

The position is responsible for operating a variety of equipment in a safe an efficient manner, including backhoe equipment and other related machinery.
Essential Job Duties
- Controls and actively participates in labor related activities on job sites during various stages of the project to ensure the accurate completion of the project.
- Operates a backhoe in a safe manner.
- Communicates with crew while on the job site, including the use of radios, hand signals, or other necessary forms of communication.
- Provides clean-up operations behind a milling machine to help dump millings from skid steer, broom tractor or ground into its proper place such as a dump truck.
- Manipulates hand or foot levers to control movements of backhoe on roadways and related surfaces such as parking lots, streets, highways, etc.
- Removes roadway reflectors from roadway in front of milling machine.
- Removes excess asphalt/concrete around manholes and water valves that a milling machine cannot reach.
- While on a job site, may be responsible for appropriately marking manholes and water valves with spray paint to be avoided by the milling machine.
- May be responsible for a variety of additional duties, such as working with a milling machine on job sites, and is responsible for:
- actively communicating with the employee operating the machine;
- ensuring the milling machine is clear of any debris or objects it could potentially hit, including remove millings that could hinder the operation of the machine;
- assisting with changing carbide teeth in milling machine drum;
- greasing the machine; and
- maintaining the correct cutting depth.
- May also be responsible for working with a clean-up crew on job sites, responsible for assisting equipment operators to ensure loose particles are removed from the milled and roadway surfaces using shovels, brooms or other methods to achieve a cleaned surface.
- Other duties may include helping with traffic control set-up and taking down and tending a slow/stop sign to maintain safe public and worker travel through the work zone, loading and unloading equipment (including equipment from trucks), shovels dirt, gravel, and other materials.
- May performs work with all hand tools including but not limited to pneumatic or traditional hammers, drills, impact guns and grease guns.
- May operate a variety of heavy mechanical equipment that requires technical expertise or specialized training.
